is to help the churches to elicit,
combine, and direct their energies
under the leadership of the
Holy Spirit in the extension
of the Kingdom of God
Thank you for visiting our web site. Let me tell you a little about who we are.
Santa Rosa Baptist Association was organized in 1907, and now includes 35 churches in Santa Rosa County, Florida. Four of our churches are more than 100 years old, and two of our churches/missions are less than two years old. Our churches are located in the fertile plains of north Santa Rosa County, in the verdant forest of Blackwater State Park, in the growing areas of Milton and Pace, and near the emerald green waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Our churches range in attendance from fewer than 25 to as many as 800.
As stated in our Constitution, our Association has as its purpose:
1) To advise, give counsel, and propose measures for the advancement of the ministry of cooperating Southern Baptist churches within the bounds of the Association and Ato the region beyond@ through the Leadership of the Holy Spirit and in cooperation with the Florida Baptist Convention and the Southern Baptist Convention;
2) To promote love, fellowship, and cooperation among the churches, and to provide occasions for same;
3) To train leadership and provide resources for same;
4) To establish, maintain, and supervise new Sunday Schools and new missions until such time as a suitable sponsoring church can be enlisted, and to guide and assist new churches;
5) To encourage the churches in evangelism, missions, benevolences, and Christian education as fostered by the Florida Baptist Convention and the Southern Baptist Convention; and
6) To establish and conduct such other institutions of a religious, educational, charitable and benevolent character as may be approved by the Association.
To facilitate the fulfillment of this purpose, the Association employs a Director of Missions and a secretary. Also, there are ministers and lay members who serve on committees, and in program leadership positions.
On this web site, we will seek to provide updated information about activities and events in the Association. Visit us often and let us know if we can provide resources or information for you.
